Unless I'm reading that wrong.....sounds like it's simply a proprietary blower (manufactured by Tuthill exclusively for HM)
Not that Tuthill makes blowers ONLY for HM
Just that that particular one is HM only...which means HM can hose all HM TM owners $3000+ for a $2000 blower :icon_redface:

I think read it wrong

SS and Prochem have all switched to GD after being told Tuthill had had enough of our industry.

The Tuthill blowers from Hydramaster have always been proprietary. It is a special blower made specifically for them.

But..

Will Tuthill sell other blowers to other manufacturers?

I was told no

Gosh, unless I don't know or have not paid close attention,

I believe the 47 blowers in our Butlers are Tuthill Blowers....

Prior to 2000 I think they were Roots, then went to Tuthill after that....

Been good blowers for us really.....

I will check into this more and see what I can find out.....

We had to obtain approval from Hydramaster in order to buy parts for a CDS blower. Tuthill would not sell them to us without it.

it has two shafts so you get the double shaft when you have to replace it.
The rationale for the double shafts is to allow flexibility driving the pump. HM uses it a lot.

Just from the looks I would think the only non-standard part would be the cover - two holes and two seals.

Still standard parts, just duplicate the driving side parts, delete driven lobe and parts.

My understanding, Butler has their Tuthill blowers manufactured to their specs which includes convenience features like self adjusting tensioners

Repositioned grease fittings (when used and for less mess)

and they require more Robust Bearings among other changes....

Mainly done for durability as well as convenience for the Butler owner....not just to jack up the price, but to make sure the Butler Customer has a better overall experience with their product.

I haven't heard of Butler NOT still working with Tuthill and I would imagine they will continue is my guess....
