You got big enough channel locks?

You still rocking old school seam iron? Don't like the Kool-Glide?
I really almost bought one 2 times.

But the need for a plastic piece underneath the seam????¿?

I only have limited experience with the Kool-glide.. All I know is the staples under the tape causes fires.. :eekk: As for the teflon piece, I'm not sure.. I've seen it used but haven't used it myself..

I was asked to clean a deck that is covered in otter piss and fish gut stains yesterday. Who knew that having such a beautiful view of the Sacramento rive came with such issues.

I know a clothing iron will work to remove old seam tape.

Not sure if the cool glide will?

I do like the idea of one.

I don't do enough repairs to matter.

Kool-Glide is good for sections or door seams where pulling a gooey iron out from under the carpet can get messy. Regular iron is faster, and you can get better (or cheaper) tape.

I've always used the Kool Glide tape right on top of the carpet pad. Been doing it like that for over 15 years.
