Your probably right how many of them use it on Residential
Where I'm at, probably very few and I suspect it will be the same in warm weather places. In cold weather climates, you will see many more using VLM just because you don't have to worry about your truck mount freezing. As Sam was saying, if you have both, often hwe is quicker and more efficient.

Well as a start up yes it cheaper, but for guy with equipment to do both....

It's not easier or faster in a residential setting.

I am amazed at how quickly and easily I move in and out of a home now that I am using a truckmount. I still take my time with vacuuming and all the works. It just sets up and cleans so darn well. I can only imagine when I get real heat on that thing soon. Personally I feel way more confident and valuable going to each job now.

Built out of necessity but built on purpose. More head weight and more agitation with 1 1/2 inch oscillation. Yup, that's the biggest. But it had to be easy to use, so, wheels up. And the biggest problem to solve, up stairs!! Love op machines but why are they so heavy going up stairs? My gosh!! So I designed this machine with that in mind and amazingly the Echo can be pulled up stairs with one hand. It's really that easy, a residential carpet cleaners dream. It's an absolute beast in cleaning with less cleaning solution and easier to manuever than other machines I've built or used. Never built a machine that runs this smooth, where's all the vibration? Again, built that way on purpose. View attachment 131901View attachment 131902View attachment 131903
What differentiates it from John G’s old machines?Looks similar. I have two of John’s machines. A Profit and a Champ. What I found was fastest in big commercial buildings was a Mytee variable speed rotary with 3 gallon solution tank and front wide spray nozzle it has a lever on the left side handle to spray cleaning solution. You can also angle the spray tip in you want to walk it sideways..slower speeds make the pads really hook up.

Buying an ATP meter to measure the bacteria count before and after cleaning made me move away from hot water extraction. Why? Bacteria live in our carpets and eat our flaked off dead skin. They build their colony’s in places where there is more food. When you blast a carpet with Hot water, you blow the bacteria present into the backing where the multiply in the presence of ample food (our dead skin) and moisture. The bacteria population grows rapidly in the presence both food and water…

The threshold for a clean environment is 200 cfu ( Colony forming units) of bacteria. Anything higher is unclean. I used to clean the carpet areas in a big Mall down in Daly City. The swabs taken before cleaning on the toys in the play area averaged 700 cfu. Seriously dirty. A woman complained that her boy got sick every time he went to the play area in the mall. I usually tested 4 different areas. After cleaning with a low moisture nano partical cleaner, the highest reading I could get on my atp meter was was 91 cfu, 200 Cfu being the thredjold for clean. Rent or borrow an ATP meter… it will tell you how present the enemy is that you can’t see…

As you know I've built John's machines for over 10 years and worked with him since the days of the Profit, cm and the Conquerer. I designed the Echo from some of those older ideas, the 15 inch pad driver for better balance, wheels up for better maneuvering around anything. But I gave it a larger oscillation and designed it to be lighter than the older ones for the purpose of going up stairs. My goal was 90 pounds because I knew it would cancel most of the vibration at the handle making it smoother and easier to use even with the larger oscillation. And because its only 90 pounds and a couple other modifications it can be pulled up stairs with one hand. Thats never happened before with a Trinity.
