Unpainted Sarouks are relatively rare in the US, which is why people are taking the trouble to strip the added dye back out. Had a stripped one in the shop on Monday.

If you dig in and look at the base of the nap you'll see remnants of color if it was dyed and stripped later.

I am lost---I understand the attraction of strippers but what is with stripped rugs? Does it pull the color up?
