So what's rare about it ?

Looks like an american sarouk that's had the painting stripped off it to me the weave is nice
some would call it a mohajeran Sarouk

A close look at the face compared to the colors on the back might help reveal if it was painted.

It's possible but these are and have been stripped later we do them although not as much now
here's the last one

Unpainted Sarouks are relatively rare in the US, which is why people are taking the trouble to strip the added dye back out. Had a stripped one in the shop on Monday.

If you dig in and look at the base of the nap you'll see remnants of color if it was dyed and stripped later.

I am lost---I understand the attraction of strippers but what is with stripped rugs? Does it pull the color up?
