If it's an issue for the customer, I charge by the lineal foot for filtration removal.

That would be a good tie in if you wanted to do duct cleaning. Homes with central heating always have heavier filtration lines.

When doing berbers , even when the customer doesn't want to, I make some excuse for them to look while I am cleaning. Just so they see clean vs. soiled, side by side. They often soil so evenly, that when you are done, they do not really see the difference. They do not realize how soiled the carpet actually is.
